Over 20 years of International Business Development experience with Canadian companies operating in Latin America and Africa, within the Telecommunications, Infrastructure and Oil & Gas Industries. Mr Ortiz has spearheaded and managed expansion projects and the establishment, development and acquisition of several International operations and sales organizations in countries like Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Chile and Argentina. He held several management positions including Chief Operating Officer for Grand Vision Energy, a privately held company in Calgary with operations in Colombia, where he lead the acquisition and financing the operation of a oil transportation company, a oil blending facility and a export storage facility. He also held positions in publicly traded companies including SMART Technologies, Wi-LAN and IRD; and has served as Board member in Tayrona Steel Pipe and the Canadian Colombian Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Ortiz holds a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering.
Edgar Bueno Serrano
Senior Geologist, with over 18 years of experience in Oil & Gas Industry. Recently Mr Bueno has held several positions including President Latin America for Grand Vision Energy, President and co-founder of Ancara Energy Inc. and Perseo Resources, additionally Mr Bueno was the Geology and Geophysics Manager for Amerisur Resources Plc (British Public company) obtaining important results in terms of discoveries, enhancing of production and reserves (Fenix and Platanillo Blocks), and evaluation of areas in Colombia, Paraguay, Ecuador, Guatemala and other countries. He worked in Cuba for Pebercan and Sherritt International Oil and Gas. Additonal roles include positions in companies such as: Emerald Energy and Petrobras. As consultant, Mr Bueno worked for many Oil and Gas companies and the Ministry of Environment and the National Hydrocarbons Agency in Colombia.
Heather has over 20 years experience, with 18 of those in international oil and gas accounting, finance and treasury, most recently at for Gran Tierra Energy Inc. where she was the first professional accountant employed by the company and established both the initial accounting and financial reporting systems as the first controller and all treasury functions including cash management, enterprise and financial risk management and capital structure and financing as the first treasurer. Previous to that Heather held various accounting and finance positions at AEC International and EnCana Corporation. Heather graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1996 and obtained her professional accounting designation (CMA) in 1999.
